Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Hometown
Travel across the Pacific aboard one of our selected airlines.
Day 2: Arrive Tokyo
Upon arrival at Narita International Airport, transfer to accommodation by airport coach (please refer to Tokyo arrival transfer procedure attached)
HOTEL: KEIO PLAZA
Day 3: Tokyo
Tokyo Morning Tour - Visit Meiji Shrine, drive by National Diet Building, Imperial East Garden (on Mon. & Fri. visit Imperial Palace Plaza instead), Asakusa Kannon Temple & Nakamise Shopping Arcade and drive through Ginza. Tour disbands on arrival in Ginza area around 1pm. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 4: Tokyo
A day to yourself to explore the city or join an optional excursion to Nikko National Park (World Heritage site).
Day 5: Tokyo / Mt. Fuji / Hakone (L) (escorted)
Travel by luxury coach, on today’s outing to the mountains of Fuji-Hakone, one of the Japan’s most beloved scenic regions. Drive through the countryside and continue to the base of snow-capped Mt. Fuji, whose graceful slopes fill your view with their perfect beauty. Lunch at Hotel Highland Resort. Enjoy a cruise on Hakone’s Lake Ashi, in the heart of a volcanic hot springs resort and Mt. Komagatake Aerial Cableway. Overnight at Hakone, or you may wish to enjoy an onsen hot spring bath this evening.

Note: inclusive of one piece per person of luggage transfer to Kyoto.
Day 6: Hakone / Kyoto
This morning, experience the local transportation to Hakone Okadawa Station. Lightening bullet train ride to Kyoto. Check in at your assigned hotel. Continue with an afternoon tour to Nara where you will visit Todaiji Temple with an image of Buddha, vermilion-hued Kasuga Shrine and Nara Park.
HOTEL: NEW MIYAKO
Day 7: Kyoto
Your morning tour in Kyoto: Visit Nijo Castle (when closed, visit Ryoanji Temple instead), Golden Pavilion, Kyoto Imperial Palace (on Sat. Sun. and national holidays and other days when it’s closed, visit Higashi Honganji Temple instead), and Kyoto Handicraft Center. You may choose to be on your own for the afternoon or take the coach to return to the hotel at around 1:30pm. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 8: Kyoto/Takayama
Assemble at New Miyako Hotel at 10am (no pick-up service). Board a Shinkansen for Nagoya. Transfer to limited express for Takayama, an ancient and quiet city called “Little Kyoto”. Afternoon, stroll through Takayama visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colorfully decorated traditional festival floats are displayed; Kasakabe Folkcraft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants under government patronage; and the Kami Sannomachi street, which preserves traditional Japanese wooden houses.

Note: From day 8, Takayama & Kanazawa, the Japan Operator reserves the right to cancel the tour 20 days before the departure date from Kyoto. If the booked tour is cancelled by the local ground operator, alternate plans will be made or the departure date can be changed. Pacific Bestours will not be responsible for any additional fees or other expenses incurred.
Day 9: Takayama/Shirakawago/Gokayama/Kanazawa
Visit the famous morning market of Takayama. Scenic drive along Lake Mibora and Shogawa river to Shirakawago, designated as World Heritage. Its highlights are unique structures called Gassho-Zukuri, or joined-hands farmhouses. Then visit Gokayama, another World Heritage village, where you can experience traditional Japanese paper making. Tour continues to Kanazawa.
HOTEL: HOTEL INN KANAZAWA
Day 10: Kanazawa / Kyoto or Tokyo
Morning sightseeing in Kanazawa, visiting Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s three most beautiful gardens; Kutaniyaki Pottery kiln; and a stroll through the Nagamachi samurai house district.

Afternoon, limited-express to Kyoto leaving around 2:20pm. Arrive at Kyoto around 4:40pm. Transfer to hotel in Kyoto.

OR

Afternoon, limited-express & Bullet train to Tokyo leaving around 2:20pm. Arrive at Station around 7:10pm. Keio Plaza Hotel is within walking distance or your own arrangement to the hotel. One piece of luggage transfer from Kyoto to Tokyo is included.
Day 11: Kyoto or Tokyo/ Hometown
Transfer to Kansai International Airport or Narita airport for departure.
